Services

Ways we can work together.

Whether you are reaching out for yourself, your teen, your family, or your relationship, there is a door into the practice that fits. The work centres on capacity for anyone and everyone, with a specialized focus on neurodivergent clients and on matching strategies and engagement to a person's actual neurological developmental stage. In-person sessions are offered through Island Clinical Counselling in Nanaimo and Port Alberni, with virtual sessions available across British Columbia.

Teens

Individual counselling for adolescents and teens

A space for young people (ages 9 and up) to be understood rather than judged, and to build skills that actually help with stress, mood, focus, friendships, and the pull of screens. Sessions move at the young person's pace and respect their world.

Adults

Individual counselling for adults

Support for adults navigating burnout, avoidance, relationship stress, sleep difficulties, digital habits, and the quiet sense of not feeling like yourself. We look at what is keeping you stuck and build realistic paths forward.

Families

Family sessions

When communication breaks down at home, family sessions help everyone find clearer language and more workable ways forward. We slow things down so each person can be heard and the whole picture can come into view.

Couples

Couples counselling

Support for partners who want to understand each other again, ease recurring conflict, and rebuild connection. We look at the patterns underneath the friction and build practical ways to communicate, repair, and feel like a team. Neurodivergent and mixed-neurotype couples are warmly welcome.

Parents

Parent consultations

Sometimes the most helpful work happens with parents alone. Parent consultations offer practical guidance, a shared language for what is happening, and steady support as you respond to your child or teen.

Technology

Technology and gaming support

A signature focus of the practice. Support for problematic gaming, compulsive social media, screen-related conflict, and online avoidance, grounded in understanding the function of the behaviour rather than shaming it.
